We strongly recommend however that you always read nutritional panels and ingredients. Some of our Dried Fruits have pure cane sugar, and although we are always looking at sourcing our fruits with no sugar added, it is far different than using than harmful chemicals.
- Dried cranberries are sweetened because unlike other berries, cranberries are naturally low in sugar, high in acidity, and very tart so they require sweetening to be palatable.

Nutritional Benefits of Dried Cape Cod Cranberries
- Gerbs encourages eating dried fruit instead of candy.
- Has antioxidant properties and a flavonoid-rich diet may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease
- The PACs in cranberries may help prevent the adhesion of certain harmful bacteria, including E. coli, that are associated with urinary tract infections (UTIs).
- The flavonoids in cranberries, including PACs, may also help to inhibit the bacteria associated with gum disease and stomach ulcers, and may help protect LDL-cholesterol (“bad” cholesterol) from being oxidized.
- Not only do cranberries have PACs, but dried cranberries are also a good source of fiber – 10% of the Daily Value – with 2.3 grams per serving (40 gram serving). And 1/2 cup of dried cranberries is equal to one serving of fruit (one cup), according to dietician’s recommendations.
- The amount of sugar in dried cranberries is equal to that of other dried fruits, like raisins and dried cherries.
- A pilot study conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that women with recurring UTIs reported a reduction in UTIs for up to six months after consuming one serving of dried cranberries per day for two weeks.
- Dried cape cod cranberries can easily be added to oatmeal, rice and grain side dishes, meat entrées, casseroles, salads, yogurt, cottage cheese, sandwich wraps, home baked cookies, muffins and breads, and more – dried cranberries are a tasty complement to a variety of dishes!
- Dried cape cod cranberries are truly locally grown. As one of the three widely farmed, commercially cultivated fruits native to North America, cranberries are farmed on over 50,000 acres across the northern United States and Canada.
STORAGE OF GERBS DRIED CRANBERRIES
We strongly recommend storing in an airtight container in a cool, dark environment like a pantry or kitchen cabinet, away from direct exposure to sunlight or excessive heat like an oven. The amount of times you open the container and let in the harmful effects of oxygen will only increase the likelihood of rancidity; thus we encourage you to not empty more than 1 pound of product at a time. Gerbs can be frozen too, but we do not recommend it, because the cell structures will change as the product thaws out!

Amazing quality, exceptional customer service and prompt delivery Returned to replenish my dried cranberries and expanded to a flax seed mix. As expected, another high quality product to add to my salads. I placed my order last minute in the hope of having the products for a large family dinner. The staff reached out to me, adjusted my delivery option to ensure they arrived in time. Keep up the great work!

Wonderful product I love these cranberries, because they are versatile, clean and safe for my family. I use them in overnight oats, salads and toss them in yogurt. My son who has a severe tree nut allergy enjoys them as a snack in school! I am so happy to have found Gerbs.

Safe for my grandson I use these cranberries because they're safe for my grandson with severe nut, gluten, egg and sesame allergies. They also last for several months. So many dried fruits are processed in facilities that also process the aforementioned items using the same equipment.

Muffins These cranberries are perfect for muffins, oatmeal and in granola, just to name a few. We have not been comfortable buying dried fruit because of peanut allergies but now we can.
