The FDA added sesame as the 9th major allergen in 2023. The 5 Gerbs adds beyond that (lupin, casein, mustard, celery, sulphites) are recognized allergens in the EU, Canada, and Australia that are not yet required in US labeling. We include them because the families we serve need the complete picture.
One facility. Dedicated equipment. No shared lines.
Gerbs dry roasts and packs every food at its Rhode Island facility on equipment that never touches the top 14 allergens. There are no shared lines, no shared roasters, and no in-bound ingredients that carry the top 14. The allergen-free status is built into the process, not just managed around it. We do not make claims about any individual allergy being "safe" for every person, because no manufacturer can make that guarantee. What we can tell you is exactly what is in the bag and exactly what our equipment never touches.
